The Dream Team Cafe was established in 2006 by the Kalamazoo RESA Youth Center School's Staff and students. The vision was made possible through a grant awarded by the Kalamazoo RESA Foundation. Currently Becci Campbell and Pam Waterman reside over the operations.
Each week throughout the school year, students plan and prepare a different menu that is sold to various staff members of the school, courts, and treatment programs. Student workers take orders and package the meals to be delivered every Thursday during lunch.
These delicious lunches help students continue to develop skills in meal planning, budgeting, food preparation, and presentation. Careers in food service industry are studied throughout the school year. Job expectations and interview techniques are also studied and practiced to obtain a job reference.
