EFE students get down to business
Kalamazoo County high school students recently competed in the Education for Employment (EFE) Business Bash Competition at Kalamazoo Valley Community College (KVCC). The event collaborates with industry professionals to host mini workshops, followed by student competitions. The co-sponsored event by Davenport University and KVCC delivered sessions focused on three main principles of business success: leadership, team building, and presentation skills. Students then received the opportunity to showcase what they learned through individual and team competitions. Portage Northern High School took first place, Schoolcraft High School took second place, and Parchment High School received third place overall.
“This event helps prepare students for the world of work! It is a great opportunity for students to learn about leadership, team building, and presentation skills from industry professionals,” said student services coordinator Diane Fort. “It gives them a chance to network with these professionals, as well as students from other schools.”
Integrative experiences like these allow students to build a foundation for future growth in their desired career field. EFE provides numerous programs for 10th-12th grade students to help prepare them for upcoming career opportunities. To learn more, visit kresa.org/efe
